Development & Outreach Coordinator

Pretty In Pink Foundation’s mission is to provide uninsured and under-insured breast cancer patients in North Carolina with financial assistance for quality, life-saving medical treatment.  We are seeking a Development & Outreach Coordinator in the greater Wilmington area to implement fundraising and community outreach strategies.  This position cultivates donors, supports third-party fundraisers, and carries out marketing and outreach activities within community.  The Development & Outreach Coordinator also serves as a regional liaison for cancer patients and families to connect with the Foundation’s services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement regional fundraising plan consistent with Foundation’s business development strategy
  • Responsible for donor research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
  • Work closely with Director of Business Development to identify giving opportunities and create marketing strategies
  • Recruit and support businesses and groups to conduct Third-Party Fundraisers
  • Coordinate special fundraising and awareness events
  • Draft letters of inquiry and proposals for sponsorships and grants
  • Represent the Foundation at community events, fundraisers, and check presentations
  • Implement marketing and outreach strategies for fundraiser recruitment and Foundation awareness
  • Recruit and manage volunteers for regional community outreach and fundraising activities
  • Contribute to communication & marketing strategies through digital media and print
  • Serve as a regional liaison to cancer patients, families and healthcare providers to support access to Foundation program services
  • Coordinate distribution of ancillary patient support resources
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, business, nonprofit management, or a related field
  • Experience in fundraising, marketing, sales and/or communications
  • Experience with nonprofit, community resources, health or human services, preferred
  • Experience working with social media, email communication tools, and donor databases, preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Team player and team builder with a positive attitude
  • Self-directed with ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

This is position is 30 hours per week.
